Halloween

I’m a lifelong maker who loves creating new projects that combine 3D printing, Arduino and ESP32 microcontrollers, Raspberry Pi computers, and LED lighting. My goal with this site is to share some of the fun things I’ve built and, hopefully, inspire others start tinkering with technology themselves.

Back in 2020, during the early days of COVID, I came up with an idea to build a Raspberry Pi–controlled candy dispenser. Using sensors and a bit of code, I created a system that detected when kids approached, played spooky music, and delivered candy down a conveyor belt and chute — all hands-free.

The response was incredible, and it quickly became a neighborhood favorite. Since then, I’ve made it a tradition to design a new candy-dispensing machine every Halloween, each one a little more creative than the last.

Here are a few of my past inventions — along with some notes about how they work and the technologies behind them.
